Celebration Kids
Celebration Kids is an annual Family Affair held on the second Saturday of May.  The CARE Team believes the best way to help prevent child abuse is to celebrate and nurture healthy children and families.  Celebration Kids is an opportunity for children and their families to have a fun, low-cost day out together playing games, receiving information from community groups, enjoying food, entering to win door prizes, and enjoying family-friendly entertainment together. Booths by local agencies, organizations and churches are featured.

Want to get involved?  Here's how!

  1. Be a part of the planning team - They start meeting in late fall.
  2. Host a booth - Community organizations are encouraged to host a booth at the event.  We encourage groups to have an easy game with simple prizes along with information about their organization.  Some groups prefer to host a special exhibit or entertainment.
  3. Be an event sponsor - Donate money to help offset the cost of entertainment, special exhibits, extra prizes, and supplies.  Any amount will help!
  4. Donate a door prize - We try to have a variety of door prizes to give away that will appeal to children, parents, and families.  Past prizes have included tickets to Holiday World, board games, free oil change, food gift certificates, savings bonds, and more!
  5. Volunteer the day of the event - There is a GREAT NEED for volunteers for part or all of the day!  Volunteer opportunities include helping set up or take down tables and equipment; selling tickets; "manning" an actvity such as an inflatable; hosting the volunteer hospitality table; manning the door prize table; delivering water to booth workers or giving them a restroom break; assisting with parking; and more!
